Simei-drinktec, Munchen: The evolution of the olive oil sector in terms of packaging and marketing; from the choice of materials to visual design

THE EVOLUTION OF THE OLIVE OIL SECTOR IN TERMS OF PACKAGING AND MARKETING. FROM THE CHOICE OF MATERIALS TO VISUAL DESIGN

Speaker: Luigi Caricato (Olio Officina)

DATE: 12/09/2017, TIME: 2.00 p.m. – 3.00 p.m., HALL C3

A noble raw material—a dietary fat that is recognised universally as a functional food, as well as a "nutraceutical food "- must be well managed, so that the intrinsic nutritional and sensory quality of the extra virgin olive oil product is well protected, in the long term too, and in the management of its transport and placement in stores. The choice of materials to make a suitable and effective packaging has created much attention, and the industry is very different from the past, with more motivation and attention to marketing and visual design too. What might the future strategies be, starting with the new course taken by the oil companies?

A Tuscan PGI oil made by Terre dell’Etruria, a farming cooperative society that has invested all it has on its members, expertly helping and guiding them towards quality and success. The most impressive features of this extra virgin oil, flavour apart, are its remarkable quality/price ratio and extraordinary yield > Luigi Caricato

Ravioli with Garda extra virgin olive oil stuffing and black olive charcoals

Extra Virgin Garda DOP olive oil’s distinctive traits are its naturally delicate flavor and its elegance. At the taste it can be recognized for harmony or its organoleptic notes and for the light and balanced aromas: the scents of fresh grass, aromatic herbs, hay and artichoke, together with the typical almond aftertaste, make it unique.
